Let me first just say that Stuart Reardon is so much more than just a handsome face. Let me first just say that Stuart Reardon is so much more than just a handsome face. I didn't know what to expect from his collaboration with Jane Harvey-Berrick, but knowing Jane's work intimately I knew to expect something of quality. And then I started it. And I quickly realized oh this book would clearly be more than quality. And it is. It is extraordinary. I was immediately pulled into Nick Renshaw's world of rugby and never looked back. And as the name suggests, it truly is the story of one man's quest to not only be undefeated on the field but in his heart as well.

Although for me I truly felt this was Nick's journey, the love story that emerges between Nick and Anna is clearly at the heart of this book. Their forbidden romance because she is his rugby team's psychologist is full of angst but it is also filled with trust, respect and most of all the ultimate solace when each of their worlds blows apart when they are found out. Even when kept apart by circumstances out of their control, there is strong tether between each of their hearts that won't simply go away because rules dictated their future. The heartache I felt for both Nick and Anna, whether it was because of lies told or injuries sustained was deep for me. I was so invested in their lives it was hard to not shed a tear or twenty because of their fast-changing circumstances.

The backdrop of rugby even when there is a boatload of foreign jargon being tossed about in almost every chapter was fascinating to me. As an American, I felt a bond with Anna, learning together about the ins and outs of this sometimes very brutal sport and quickly becoming a fan, when I've never even watched one match! With Stuart Reardon's vast knowledge of the rugby world, the adage of writing what you know was clearly the way to go for his debut work since his experience as a former star player made this book that much more captivating.

Jane Harvey-Berrick and Stuart Reardon write seamlessly together. There is so much to absorb but I savored every word. Even though this book is quite lengthy it never felt that way. I was never bored nor was I prone to skimming, something I do when many passages in a book seem redundant. With Undefeated I was fully immersed in every single sentence, feeling almost bereft that it came to an end. It is quite the voyage through the eyes of both Nick and Anna. From doctor/patient to friends through email and then to lovers, they have certainly one helluva tale to tell. To say it is unputdownable is an understatement.

So don't be fooled that this is yet another attempt by a cover model to jump on the romance bandwagon. This is writing at its very best and I look forward to more collaborations from these two in the future.

    5 HUGE STARS!!

What can I say about this amazing book, well quite a lot actually but then you would be bored LOL.

Firstly let me say that the collaboration between Jane Harvey-Berrick and Stuart Reardon was brilliant, I could not put this book down, every page kept me engrossed it was so good. This book is so much more than about a game, it is about a man who although has trials and tribulations regarding his future, he is determined to carry on. This book is so much more than about a game, it is about a man who although has trials and tribulations regarding his future, he is determined to carry on. He fights at all costs to not get defeated on what is going on around him and to become a stronger person throughout this.

Nick Renshaw the leading character just pulls you in on every page, he is focused, hot and determined and knew what he wanted from life, he wanted to play Rugby and increase on the league tables, however, life doesn’t always turn out the way we want it to and Nick has to deal with this.

My heart went out for Nick on more than one occasion but through the help and support of Anna and his family, surpasses all his expectations. The romance between him and Anna takes a while as at the beginning they are forbidden to be together, however, the chemistry between them is so hot you feel sorry for them not being able to act upon it and frustrated that they cannot be together as they want to be.

Nick and Anna have a great working relationship where they trust each other and are respectful for each other, however, when circumstances change and they can finally be together in a relationship way it is so wonderful and heart-warming you just smile and sigh that two amazing people can find each other and love each other whole heartedly.

Although Nick and Anna are finally able to be with each other there are people out there trying to pull them apart by lies and deceit which literally broke my heart, I literally couldn’t help but cry for this couple at that point of the book. Two people who had struggled and scarified being with each other for so long to eventually have a shot at being happy are plagued by deceitful people trying to pull them apart.

I love the sport of Rugby and although I didn’t understand all the terminology I was fascinated to read all the ins and outs of the game itself and to know that it is more complex than men just training on a pitch during the week and going to play at weekends, there is so much fitness involved and some of the injury conversations was so enlightening for me that I will never watch Rugby the same again, I will watch it now with a more comprehensive understanding of all that goes on with this game and to them that play it.

This book to me was one where I could absorb myself in every word and to devour.

Stuart Reardon has such a knowledge of this game, through playing it and living it and that shows so much in this story and is such a great credit to him, I hope that Stuart continues to write more stories.

Jane Harvey-Berrick knows how to write a great story, she has done throughout her writing career and will continue to do so but this book with Stuart Reardon is such a great collaboration that I have no hesitation in recommending this book to everyone.

This book is about Nick a rugby player who has a good life and he thinks everything is perfect, but then everything start to change and he found himself depressive and lost, and he doesnt know what to do about his life anymore, but he has people who support him always like his family and the Dr.who had work with him previously our lovely Anna (who also arrives in England with a past that she doesnt want to remember anymore).... This is the story about who Nick after that black hole is starting to rising up his life, and with this he found himself in a friendship with Anna but both know that they are more than a friendship they have strong feeling to each other, but this relationship cant be possible know for the public and everyone else, because their jobs doesnt allow.. but If you really want to know and learn more about the amazing journey that Nick and Anna have to pass to find there HEA you need to read this book as soon as is available.

This book makes you feel all kind of things!! I cried ( I mean seriously these characters has to pass some really difficult moments) but also i could feel the love between them so much!! they have a great chemistry!! and of course you can find that moments when you laugh!

One part that i really enjoyed about this book is all the details that they put about Rugby, is like you can notice that the person who wrote it is an expert, and when you mix that with Jane style the result is a fantastic book.

I just want to say Congratulations to Stuart and Jane for this book!!! Can't wait for the next one and I really hope they are planning more and more collaborations!!!

Talk about an inspiring story about rising up from the ashes after you hit rock bottom! I loved following Nick's journey as he struggled with his career but was also triumphant in his career. Sure, along the way there were some casualties but it was a beautiful story and inspiring story.

The story does involve a rugby player and his bounce back after an injury so its only natural to have the game part of the story. But there were times I felt the description of the actual game to be a little too much. As a reader, I don't need every detail about the game just enough to know what's happening. At the same time, there were a few descriptions that I absolutely loved! It gave me the thrill as if I was actually at the game, listening to the crowd cheer and stomp their feet. There is nothing as electric as moment likes those. I've been in the stands during a sporting event to know the energy that takes place and to be able to capture those feelings in writing is magical.

Overall, the story was fantastic and descriptions were great. I do wish we did get just a tad bit more between the characters but still very much enjoyable! This is one I would recommend!

Meet Nick Renshaw, he´s the golden boy of british Rugby. When a injury threatens his career he becomes depressed and something breaks. When he hits rock bottom, he sees he has to restart his life for his and his family´s sake.

Dr. Anna Scott might be able to help him - she might be able to destroy herself on the way too.

Both have incredible chemistry, but there is a strict fraternzing policy in order.

When a gost from Nick´s past shows up and threatens to destroy them everything is about to blow in their faces.

Undefeated is a sports romance told in a dual POV and starts out very sportsy, the emotions and soul searching take a backburner. I was missing a bit the drama and desperation, but then it came with a big bang. There is so much drama in the second part of the book, it left me breathless. I wanted to take a break from reading, but I couldn´t stop, I had to know what happens to the characters. ´til the well deserved HEA.

Meet a damaged man with a beautiful soul who meets the love of his live.

Favorite Quote: " This is the first day of the rest of my life. "

    Wow, just wow, 5 stars.

I already had the pleasure of meeting Stuart Reardon at a book convention and I think I will be repeating myself when I say that I love Jane Harvey-Berrick’s writing style. So when it came to my attention that those two would be writing together well it was a given that I needed to read that.

I am not sure how they shared their work but I think it is fair to assume that this detailed knowledge about Rugby and the emotions of the players is definitely coming from him and wow I would have never guessed that the injury rates are really that high - again wow. (but hey what do I know about this sport – nothing)

When it comes to the writing well let’s put it this way. I would have guessed that Ms. Harvey-Berrick was holding the pen and Mr. Reardon giving the input BUT after reading some of the explanations given within the book I am not so sure anymore. And after reading the book I think it actually really might have been both of them together.

I am not so much into sports novels I have to admit that in advance but this collaboration intrigued me. And I was not disappointed. To me it sounded and later also felt like professionals were at work in both writing and plot. Struggling at the beginning when I thought it was going too detailed into the sport itself - I was shortly after surprised about the emotional depth of this novel.

While it started with its focus on the sport the tables were turned rather quickly and the story became a romance but the sport was never lost during the way. Their journey from patient to lovers was remarkable. Against all obstacles, lies, deceit that tried to pull them apart the reader will love to follow them

It felt real and it felt like just the right amount of feeling for a novel of that kind. Still I have to admit that I did not cry and I did not laugh – so according to my own rules I am not allowed to give this book 5 stars – so damned if I do & damned if I don’t. Because the novel was perfect as it was. What can I say .. good thing I am CRAZY and those rules are mine …

I admit that it was the collaboration of the co-authors that intrigued me the most about this story. I have zero knowledge about rugby, but I've enjoyed Jane Harvey-Berrick books in the past, so I knew she had the talent to make this work. And yes, I knew who Stuart Reardon was too. I've seen him on many book covers, including this one. The fact that he is actually a pro rugby player made me even more curious knowing that it would be his POV behind the game details.

When I first met Nick, he was on the rise in his professional rugby career. He'd just been signed to the next level and was finishing out his time with his current team. He was at the top of his game, full of confidence and passion for the sport. He'd been playing for years so he'd had many injuries over the years and the scars to prove it. They all did. As I learned while reading this story, rugby is an intensely physical sport and the players don't wear pads like American football players do. They just wear mouth guards and the rest of their body is at risk for injury. And when weather conditions are bad, the rain and mud make it even worse when they can't get speed or traction. My heart was in my throat as I experienced that game, the one that changed his life, through Nick's eyes. Having read the synopsis, I knew what was coming. I knew he was gonna get injured. So, it made me scared to turn the page as I anticipated the inevitable disaster, not wanting it to happen, but knowing that it would. I was devastated right along with him, worried that he might not make it back to the game that he loved.

Dr. Anna Scott has been through hell herself so she understands much of what Nick is experiencing. She might not always practice what she preaches, but she believes in it. She tries to help Nick by giving him the tools he needs to help himself. She knows that it's important that he believes in himself and his ability to recover and reclaim his place on the team. If he has doubts, then how can his coach and his team depend on him?

As they each struggle with their own demons they also struggle with their attraction to each other. A relationship between them is forbidden. There is no fraternization allowed between doctor and patient. They both have careers they have worked hard for and it's better to deny their feelings than to risk them, right? So, they form a friendship and Anna is supportive and encouraging as he fights his way back after rehab.

I really enjoyed learning about rugby and the author's passion for the sport bleeds through the pages. I felt like I was right there, in the locker room, and on the field. Being an American, some of the words were unfamiliar, but it didn't detract from the story. And can I just say, I really loved the support characters, Belinda and Brendan? I'm excited to report that there are already plans for more collaboration between these talented authors. I can't wait to see what they have for us next. The line forms here...
