Keary has revived my love for this saga with Crown of Death.

Let me give you a quick rundown - House of Royals is a series of 8 books; the first 5 books are Alivia's and the last 3books are Elle's. I personally feel that Elle's books should have been spin-offs within the series, as Keary has done with Crown of Death. You do not need to read the previous 8 books to read this one, however, I highly recommend doing so as we are first introduced to King Cryus in those books and you have a

Let me give you a quick rundown - House of Royals is a series of 8 books; the first 5 books are Alivia's and the last 3books are Elle's. I personally feel that Elle's books should have been spin-offs within the series, as Keary has done with Crown of Death. You do not need to read the previous 8 books to read this one, however, I highly recommend doing so as we are first introduced to King Cryus in those books and you have a better understanding of who he is. And it just makes this book all the more better too.

Crown of Death is the start of King Cyrus' series. He is the ruler of all Vampires; he's their creator. However, he's lived a very long and lonely life looking for his beloved wife to resurrect again and join him. Alivia made him believe it was her in order to save herself and her house. So now King Cyrus is even more distrusting of people and won't make the same mistakes again.

Logan is living a normal life until she comes to meet Cyrus unexpectedly. Logan knows nothing of her birth parents and is thrown into a world she never knew existed or expected. I have to give it to Logan that she handles all of this new information quite well. She doesn't question the insanity of it, doesn't doubt anything being told her; she just accepts everything as is. For me, that is the only hard selling point that is not fully won over. I get that Logan is very open-minded and believes in reincarnation and has a rather unhealthy obsession with death (she's an apprentice to a mortician) but being told that she needs to die in a short time frame only to be reborn in 4 days later as vampire, yea, I think most sane people would question that big time. She just sort of accepts it and goes along with everything. Keary does do a good job of having Logan question herself and things along the way but it still felt like Logan was just too accepting immediately.

Even while I had that one tiny problem, Keary does a great job with her story telling and getting Logan to finally accept what is to come, what her world will be. Cyrus doesn't explain to Logan who he is or what he wants from her - he learned that lesson the hard way already. And that's what makes this book extremely entertaining to read.

Logan doesn't buckle under Cyrus or his domineering presence. She refuses to show fear or cowardness. She's very acidic in her characteristics and doesn't hold back on anything. Yea, Cyrus may have that worldliness about him, but Logan won't let that affect her. And knowing who her parents now are (won't give that exciting revelation away) makes this all the more exciting. For those who've read the previous books will really understand the excitement behind that.

We get to know a bit more about Cyrus and how he came to be and his family's history, which I loved. We get a better understanding to him and I found myself empathizing for him, which was quite shocking based on his previous interactions in other books. We see a different side to Cyrus - a side that Logan brings out in him.

I won't say much more except that Keary once again has me all-in on this series. I had been looking forward to Cyrus' books and knowing who Logan, I am even more excited to see where Keary takes this series.

    I need book two pronto!!!

Holy cow! I finished this book in half a day, I seriously couldn’t put it down!!!

This is a new series to follow after Ms. Taylor’s House of Royal series.

Logan is just trying to live her life and do the best she can at being happy. Then she witness some major atrocities at work and wonders how and why something so awful could take place. That is where she starts to stumble and fall head first into a world she didn’t know was real. Vampires aren’t just made up and she’s going to find out how real

That is where she starts to stumble and fall head first into a world she didn’t know was real. Vampires aren’t just made up and she’s going to find out how real they are. Not only that but she will be getting to meet and spend time with their King and creator. Not only that, she’s going to learn about her birth mother. The question is, can she handle the next month and the after? As she will make a deal with the King to end her life in a months time.

In this book we get to see different sides to King Cyrus. He’s still the King we’ve all gotten to know if the first books, however he’s deeper here. His character, past, motives, sadness, love, etc. comes out. So many different sides to him and we are finally getting to glimpse them more. It made me fall in love with his character so much more on so many levels. I feel sorry for him. I long for him to be happy. I can feel his pain, anger, and frustration and find myself taking his side almost on more then one occasion.

It was very well written. Read it to find out more about Logan’s story and place in this world!!! I’m dying as I wait for the next book to come out!!

We have met King Cyrus before in previous books but this book shows a completely new side to him when it comes to Logan. He is soft, sweet, caring and charming but that doesn’t mean he still doesn’t enjoy his games.

I love the character of Logan, she’s a strong independent woman. However, I wished it was her mother; Alivia, they called before the king. The relationship between the King and Logan was absolutely adorable even knowing the Kings real motive from the previous books and that he wanted something else from her. I was still shipping them together from the beginning.

I’m a big fan of author Keary Taylor, I’ve loved everyone of her books she has written and I loved this one just the same. Five-star rating from me.

King Cyrus is back. I can’t shake this guy. He’s one of the bad guys I feel guilty about liking. He does horrible things. Horrible. And just when I think he’s gone too far, he flashes a glimpse of his humanity and I’m mesmerized again. Crown of Death is written as a stand-alone, which is great for suggesting it to my reader friends who haven’t read any of Keary Taylor’s earlier books, but if you’ve read the House of Royals series or the Garden of Thorns series, then the characters are already in

Taylor is good at what she does, so the answers only lead to more questions about what comes next, and that’s okay because it means I can’t wait to read the next book in her Crown series! Like I said, I can't shake the guy.
