Though romances starring rock star heroes or heroines aren’t usually on my list of favorites, I may have to make an exception after reading this latest romance by Jenny Holiday. On the strength of my enjoyment of previous stories of hers, in particular the 49th Floor series of romantic comedies, I ended up reading Famous earlier this year. It’s a terrific story about a pop star princess who takes a break from the spotlight by staying with an old acquaintance. While Infamous is indirectly linked

On the strength of my enjoyment of previous stories of hers, in particular the 49th Floor series of romantic comedies, I ended up reading Famous earlier this year. It’s a terrific story about a pop star princess who takes a break from the spotlight by staying with an old acquaintance. While Infamous is indirectly linked to that novel (the main character here is friends with the heroine of that one), it’s a very different story. In Famous, the heroine was trying to escape the spotlight; by contrast, the hero of Infamous is an up and coming rock star seeking it out. Sometimes you start a new book and you know within the first few pages that you’ve found a winner. Infamous is that story.

me pareció simplemente genial.

Estuvieron bien desarrollados, sobretodo, Jesse y Hunter.

NO insta-love, NO triángulo amoroso.

Jesse and Hunter, a budding rockstar and a pediatrician respectively, two people who should never have crossed paths meet on a train from Montreal to Toronto. The two hit it off right away and chat for the entire five-hour trip, but they head off to their separate lives once they step off the train.

They meet again when Hunter contacts Jesse whose band, Jesse and the Joyride, has gained much notoriety and popularity over the past two years since they first met on the train, and asks him to visit one of his sick patients in the hospital, who is a big fan of Jesse and his band.

Jesse agrees and after that initial visit he continues to come back and visit the kids in the hospital, as well as Hunter and soon he and Hunter become very close friends, something neither of them has ever really had before in their lives.

I absolutely LOVED this book and I adored both Hunter and Jesse, they were such caring and sweet guys and they fit perfectly together, whether in friendship or as a couple. They really cared about their families and friends/bandmates and in Hunter’s case, his patients. The author really took her time to develop both Jesse and Hunter as well as their relationship. Not only did they get to know each other, but I really got to know them, as well.

This is an extremely slow burn, like create another word for greater than slow burn story, and usually (for me, anyway) this would have been frustrating and perhaps annoying, but honestly, as the pages of the story and the months of friendship between Hunter and Jesse slip by, I was never once bored or thinking of skimming ahead. This story truly held me captivated and I didn’t want it to end, in fact, I messaged my co-blogger at about the 68% mark and told her “I’m only at 68%, but I’m not ready for it to end.” I almost wanted to set the book aside or read slower to savor the story, but I couldn’t put it down and I was right, because as perfect as the ending was, I really wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Hunter and Jesse.

The unresolved sexual tension and chemistry between Hunter and Jesse was off the charts and once they finally, FINALLY, gave into and acted on their feelings, it was sweet and passionate and absolutely perfect.

Okay, I’m gonna stop babbling now and just say, I’m in awe of the fact that this is apparently this author's debut MM novel. It was well-written and enjoyable and I can’t recommend enough that you go one click this book, you won’t regret it. I’m really hoping this isn’t the author's final endeavor into this genre, because I can’t wait for more! Go one-click it! What are you waiting for?!

    4.5 Stars.

Infamous is a great friends to lovers romance with all the pleasure of the Rock Star theme as well.

Jenny Holiday hits all the right notes with this touching romance about Jesse, the rock star, and Hunter, the doctor.

Watching them become such close friends while crushing on each other is a joy. I love how Hunter's life as a doctor is shown to be as complex and important (maybe more in some ways) than Jesse's famous job as a singer and songwriter.

Jesse makes a choice early in this book not be out as bisexual in exchange for getting the agent he wants/needs to make his band successful. He also fears being out in terms of the damage it might due to his ability to make a living in music. Hunter won't be with another closeted man.

The conflicts is realistic as is the way there two men fall more and more in love until something has to give.

It is a slow burn romance with a number of compelling elements outside the romance.

I just loved Hunter and Jesse and the connection they had.

I am not sure that the last flash of drama was needed or that Jesse wouldn't have told Hunter that he was bi and the agreement he had made with his agent and that kept it from being a 5 Star read for me but every other moment made this a shining gem of a love story.

Can't wait for more in the series!

I was given this book for my honest review. So, there you have it!

You'll guess it yess Jesse can't give in to his feelings but he can't hold back to kiss Hunter.

Surprisingly their friendship stays strong....until they both can't hold back anymore.

And there is the moment of truth...not.... Hunter is deeply hurt and is gone...far away... nowhere to reach...

Jesse has to make up his mind.. and he finally takes a stand.

Around these men is more story, good ones... family, friends/band members, management... fans... patients, work...it's all really put down well.

It wasn't predictable thank god... Solid written story, entertaining and smoothly put down.

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. The main characters are best friends and it turns out this is my catnip now.

Jenny Holiday's voice always works for me and INFAMOUS is no exception. It's funny and, despite taking place over about a year and being something of a slow burn, never let my attention flag. I thought it was funny and engaging and charming.
