    Series Review:

Volleyball (some great explanations in here too!), team spirit, a cast of loveable quirky characters that only gets bigger and more amazing each volume, scenes that make me laugh, games that I'm invested in and have I mentioned the colourful cast that makes me squee, jump and fall in love again and again?

Individual Volume Comment: Oh, Nekoma-cover. Shiver me timbers!!

Suga Mama and Yaku Mama scolding their children... HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THEM?!

Another great volume. Pudding-head and Ultimate-bed-hair have both been introduced into the story. And Tsukki's #1 fan is Yamaguchi. XD

How is Furadate so good at creating easy to understand yet thrilling action scenes that actually make me excited about sport? Haikyu!! is my happy place.

    This series is so motivating!!

Also Kenma is 100% the most under appreciated character in the early volumes of Haikyuu...

This one was lacking in Nishinoya lines but it made up with Kageyama/Hinata moments :')

    Onto the next volume!

I forgot how much I adore how Karasuno and Nekoma interact with one another. They're rivals, yet they still act like the greatest of friends in a sense. It makes it all the more funny that the lead writer for the anime adaptation of Haikyuu also worked on Prince of Stride: Alternative, which has a very similar dynamic.

I'm also noticing that the background expressions in a few panels give me SO much life. They are all iconic. Makes me super excited for the next few matches actually, though I was

Training camp is the best and they always make me so happy :3 It's great seeing Nekoma woo! It's awesome how each team face problems in the match but figure out how to overcome it. Sure it takes Karasuno some extra time but they got this. Nekoma are so calm and calculated it's clear they have great team work and communication. Also some secret moves in there!

Suga putting his own selfish needs of wanting to play a match aside so the team has a strong chance at winning. The Daichi and Asahi liste

THEY GET THEIR UNIFORMS WOOO!!!! Hinata has the same number as the small giant aww. CATS VS CROWS LET’S GO!

Ngl Kenma is rather intimidating, very calculating but calm. Ah he knows exactly how to stop the quick attack. He’s going to stop Hinata! Kuroo supporting Kenma though yesss!

KAGEYAMA SPIKED THE BALL WOOOOO!!!!! That was so badass, him basically getting revenge and being like I’m awesome too! Hinata got blocked for the first time ouch.

It’s really cool seeing Hinata not be defeated by being blocked but being motivated more than ever to be sent more tosses and to find a solution. He’s trying to control the direction of the toss and as he hasn’t actually been looking at the toss before it’s surprisingly difficult.

That small giant backstory hitting the blockers fingertips FORESHADOWING!!!!

HUMANS HAVE NO WINGS SO THEY FIND A WAY TO FLY

Ooh Kuroo is up front. Three people running synchronised attack woo Karasuno use this a lot later! Kuroo and Kenma using the time difference attack was awesome! Hinata managed to work on the timing of his spike woo but it was connected and Nekoma won!

Aww Hinata and Nekoma’s 7 chatting through blab was great. It was cool seeing Karasuno and Nekoma chat and get on after the match.

The beach volleyball one shot was cool too!

If you like "Nekoma high school of volleyball team" you have to read this volume!! I love " Nekoma" so it is sooooo interesting. The normal school of life's stories are fun. However playing games with rivals are more interesting. When I read "Haikyu" I want to play volleyball in spite of a weak player.

The big game between Nekoma and Karasuno is finally on! In sports manga tradition, almost the entire volume is devoted to the volleyball match. The action is swift and the sets are brutal, with Kageyama and Hinata putting their hearts in the game. Can they beat the school’s rival?

I am not a volleyball fan and I enjoyed the game against Nekoma. While Kageyama and Hinata are a match made in heaven, they have only recently begun playing together. The Karasuno team is fielded wit

I am not a volleyball fan and I enjoyed the game against Nekoma. While Kageyama and Hinata are a match made in heaven, they have only recently begun playing together. The Karasuno team is fielded with rookies and players who are just getting to know each other, and against Nekoma, this is a handicap. Coach Ukai has only just joined the team, and only for this practice match, and the disparity in play soon becomes obvious. The Nekoma team plays like a cohesive unit, while Karasuno functions like individual cogs in a machine. Give the heroes a weakness, and they will eventually overcome!

The art, which I don’t think I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, gives a convincing sense of motion. And the drama! The drama of the poses and facial expressions is so much fun. Clenched teeth, sweat drips, bunched muscles, speedlines galore! I really enjoyed the art in this volume. The panels flowed smoothly from one to the next, and made the gameplay exciting and suspenseful.

Haikyu!! is a fun series so far. The team dynamics are starting to get more complex, and the volleyball matches are visually exciting, even if the sport isn’t a favorite. I did get a little bogged down by some of the game mechanics, but I think that is because I know so little about volleyball.

The training camp arcs were my favorites in the anime, and I really like Nekoma's team interactions with Karasuno's team
